DESIGN FRAKTA is turned upside down (synonym: in a state of disorder)

The legendary slogan ‘Are you still just living there, or are you actually living?’ could be adapted for this competition to ‘Are you still just living there, or are you already organising?’
It doesn’t matter which bag you look into; it can appear organised or messy.
What do people carry with them every day, and what differences are there between those who carry bags?

I argue that one defines oneself by one’s contents, and so I turn the FRAKTA bag inside out to reveal its interior.

As with the proposed installation, I look into the personal FRAKTA ‘shopping basket’ and now let the objects of desire ‘fall out’.
The resulting jellyfish installation “FRAKTA Upside Down” in a marine aquarium displays not only various objects but also different materials such as textiles, plastics and metals, and this diversity of materials might come as a surprise.

For the issue also has a flip side: worldwide, there are vast quantities of material waste, stored or washed up where they do not belong. (e.g. the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, three times the size of France, or the huge rubbish dumps in Africa and Asia).

So how do we deal with consumption and sustainability—are they contradictory, or can they go hand in hand?

Decide for yourself how big your own ecological footprint is when you look inside your bag!
