BIRDS’ DRIVE IN – bird feeder column
Ever since I was a teenager, I’ve loved watching birds. Organized by the Österreichischen Naturschutzjugend, we’d go on numerous morning excursions in the nearby forest, hiding behind bushes or perching on tree trunks, listening to the birdsong and watching them through binoculars.
I still enjoy watching blackbirds, yellow-cheeked titmice, and other feathered friends, as well as observing their habits.
The idea to design an illuminated bird feeder column came to me quite some time ago, since wild birds are searching for food all year round and can hardly find enough natural food due to land sealing and monocultures.
Now that I’ve successfully tested the prototypes on my balcony for over two years, it’s time to present them using high-quality materials, balanced proportions, and a minimalist design:
BIRDS’ DRIVE IN, a bird feeder featuring an elegant, high-quality design that makes it easier for feathered visitors to feed even during snowy and frosty winters.
The drainage holes in the bottom provide fresh and tasty food even when it rains. In addition to allowing birds to cling to the mesh, the perching bar enables several birds to feed at the same time while staying at a safe distance from the ground (watch out for cats and martens). It is recommended to hang the feeder, if possible, in a dry, partially shaded spot protected from rain and snow—but not directly in front of glass panes (windows).
And in the evening, when the birds are resting for the night, the BIRDS’ DRIVE IN bird feeder lights up, serving as an additional source of lighting on the balcony or in the garden.
